"My Great Swedish Adventure"~Post 38~Leaving London

Image
Although we only stayed 3 days in London (I know, you are thinking we were there much longer than three days, but we weren't) we accomplished and saw a lot. I shared many photos, but you only saw a small fraction of the photos I actually took. I usually take 350-500 a day when I am on a trip like this. It takes a lot of time to go through the photos and choose which ones I wanted to use, watermark them and write a post. I apologize it has taken me so long to do this. It was awesome to hook up with the new friends we made while on our Barcelona Cruise a couple of years ago. Because they were willing to come "play" with us we stayed those extra days in London. I think it had been years since they had been to see the sites, so it was good for them as well. We hope we get to see them again soon, maybe next time they will come our way! London was beautiful! It seemed surreal to actually stand at Big Ben, the Parliament Building, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palac

I am participating in Julie Goucher's activity: Prompt for week 34 is ~ Easter Memories What does Easter Mean to you? A religious event? The first main break (in the UK) since Christmas and New Year A more general Spring/Autumn event Easter Bunnies Eggs Chocolate Traditions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was not raised religiously, so going to church on major religious holidays may have only happened once or twice in my lifetime. Easter makes me think of children and yes, bunnies, baskets, eggs and chocolate. My fondest memories from when I was young was going to my maternal grandfather's, George Milton Harding's, for Easter Egg Hunts and great meals cooked for us by grandma Helen. They had a great backyard which included a pond.  We always wore a dress on Easter, but never gloves or hats. I do not have memories of coloring Easter Eggs as a child, but I am sure we did. The suddenly, we were grown up and there weren't any kids. The family still g

I am participating in Julie Goucher's activity: Prompt for week 33 is~ Big Regrets - I should (or not) have bought that large purchase Small Regrets - I should (or not) have had that thick shake at MacDonalds Miscellaneous Regrets Relationships Jobs Friends ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don't we all have regrets? Mine go in my head and out of my head. "Woulda, coulda, shoulda," nothing you can do about it now. I hear people say, "I should have bought that house back in the day, it would be worth so much now!" These are the kinds of things I tend not to pay much attention to. Anyone and everyone can say something similar to this. Hindsight… Reflecting... Big regrets? I have tried to live my life to be caring of others, helpful and patient when needed. I have tried to be a good friend, wife, mother, daughter, aunt, niece, cousin, sister, neighbor, worker and grandmother. At times I have not been the best in

I am participating in Julie Goucher's activity: This week's prompt is - How do you De-Stress? Read Swim Walk Music Yoga   Sport Anything else? What triggers your acknowledgement that you need to de-stress? Headaches other pains? What triggers you stress? As always, share what you feel comfortable - anything from nothing to.....your choice! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These days, I do not get as much stress as when I was working. Lately, I am finding I stress over my granddaughter's dance competitions, this is her first year in competitions. Because mom had many work  obligations with the business changing ownership where she works, she wasn't available much at the beginning of this season so I played the mom roll. Buying costumes, jewelry, hair, makeup, ballet shoes, tap shoes, etc., etc. I learned  how to do her hair piece and hair, and also worked a bit on the prop. The 3 girls on the "mini team" each have a p
