This being Sentimental Sunday, I have made today the final day of posting for Jamboree 2010. I have enjoyed this journey of sharing the event with you and I hope you have enjoyed it too. Below, you will see my Mardi Gras beads and ribbons etc. Seeing this makes me very sentimental, Jamboree has been one of the most awesome experiences I have had, times two. Thank you to all who prepare for it and to all who attend, what an event! Here you can see I collected 10 ribbons, and a few buttons. Because I have scanned so many funeral cards and obituary's lately I have decided to post these items on Fridays, hence the title Funeral Friday. Some of these may not actually pertain to my family, however I wish to share what I have as they may be helpful to someone. Unfortunately, most of the newspaper obits do not list a date of print nor the title of the newspaper. I will try to give location and dates that may be helpful as I can. In Memory of George R. Well, here is was Sunday morning and time to check out. Rushing right along, trying not to be late, I packed up, checked out and headed over to Jamboree to meet Gini from Ginisology . We agreed to attend the lecture ~ Timelines and Chronologies: Secrets of Genealogical Success together. As a matter of fact, A.C. Ivory, from Find My Ancestor , also attended this lecture with us. Geoffrey D. Rasmussen was the speaker. I have to admit, I wasn't to hot on attending this, however, Gini really wanted to go. What a great lecture, I am SO  glad I attended! Thank you Gini! We were all so impressed that immediately after the session we headed straight to the Legacy booth in the Exhibit Hall, where we proceeded to buy programs that were demonstrated at the session we had just participated in. After the Blogger's Summits on Saturday, it was Lisa Louise Cooke's LIVE Podcast for the  Genealogy Gems Podcast , which I shared with you in the 6th post of Jamboree . Here is a picture of Chris Haley singing...I enjoyed his musical talent. The lectures I attended on Saturday afternoon were "Archival Products and Their Use" and a mini-computer lab course "Writing Your Family History Using Microsoft Word." The archival products lecture was informative and jazzed me up to buy the products I needed at Jamboree. This was something I have been wanting to do for a couple years and hadn't done it, so it became a goal for me at Jamboree. I have a few items to store; a christening dress, a quilt, a tablecloth, and a sweater. Who would have thought ordering boxes could be so much fun? Continuing on with my "Smiling Saturday" theme at Jamboree, I next attended Blogger Summit part 2. This summit's panel consisted of Thomas MacEntee, Destination Austin Family ,  GeneaBloggers , Craig Manson, GeneaBlogie , Schelley Talalay Dardashti, Tracing the Tribe , Lisa Louise Cooke, Genealogy Gems Podcast , Family Tree Magazine Podcast and Kathryn Doyle, California Genealogy Society and Library . Part two was continuing on with after you have your blog; how to keep it fresh, beneficial and possibly profitable along with some other tips from the panel. Also in the "Summit" room there was quite a conversation being carried on about this incident: These are two GeneaBloggers who seem to have an awful lot in common! They had the same shoes, and each of them was wearing blue jeans and blue shirts. Pop Question! Do you know who they may be? Not fair if you attended Jamboree! It is hard to believe it has been over two years since my biological father passed away. It still seems like yesterday. I think of him often and miss those blue eyes! Saturday started out with a very nice breakfast right there at the Marriot Hotel with Gini Webb- Ginisology and her husband Steve, Elyse- Elyse's Genealogy Blog , and A.C. Ivory- Find My Ancestor . Elyse finished eating and took off to the Blogger Summit as she was on the panel. When the rest of us were finished we headed on over to where the summit was to be held, along with many other GeneaBloggers. Below is what was displayed on the screen~ Here we see each of the panelists for the first session. Thomas MacEntee- Destination Austin Family -  GeneaBloggers , Steve Danko- Steve's Genealogy Blog , Elyse Doerflinger- Elyse's Genealogy Blog , Miriam Midkiff- AnceStories , and Randy Seaver- GeneaMusings  (a distant cousin of mine as he is with many others). I love the look Elyse is giving here. Of course, they were all posing for cameras that were set up in another direction than I was, so the panel was all looking the other way. There was not included a title of the newspaper, nor a date of when this was printed. Richard J. Schubert Richard J. Schubert, 80, of Nevis died Nov. 17, at the  Veteran's Hospital in Fargo. He was born February 17 1893 at Albany, Minn., to Herman and Anne Schubert, atteinded school at Two Inlets and at the Dun- woody Institute, Minneapolis, and married Violet Hanson at  Wadena on January 15, 1927. During World War 1, Mr. Schubert served as a corporal with Co. M, 324th Infantry. Employed as a tool and die maker and carpenter, he lived in Flin

Even though this is a "Those places Thursday" post, this Mariachi band was playing at Jamboree on Friday night for the welcome reception. Later in the evening there was added excitement as Elyse Doerflinger of Elyse's Genealogy Blog  showed up after her graduation, earning her Associate Degree in Liberal Studies, and dinner with her family. Can you believe she wanted to be at Jamboree on the night of her graduation? That is a love and dedication for genealogy! Here is Tami Glatz, from Relatively Curious about Genealogy , presenting an autographed book she has carried with her to different conferences to have signed by all. She did this for Elyse as graduation gift. Many top notch people and lecturers in the genealogy field have signed this book along with many GeneaBloggers . A.C. Ivory~ Find My Anc estor  and Thomas MacEntee~ Destination Austin Family , GeneaBloggers I spent part of Friday morning in the "Bloggers Lounge" where I was able to visit and take a few more pictures. There were many free Jamboree events that morning until noon... round table discussions, an introduction to genealogy class, an advanced class and more. At noon the exhibit hall opened. Jamboree Orientation commenced promptly at 1:00p.m. and lectures started at 1:30. Miriam Midkiff~ AnceStories and Ruth Himan~ Genealogy is Ruthless without Me Somewhere between all of this and breakfast Gini Webb, from Ginisology , and I went to the Ancestry scanning room to make an appointment to have our documents and pictures scanned. I brought all over sized items that I couldn't scan at home. Originally I read we were allowed to bring 50 items, to be done in a 15 minute session. As time closed in on the actual event, I read we could bring 25 items. Difficult as it was, I chose

First things first. My originally planned room mate was not able to attend Jamboree at the last minute. Fortunately, she had arranged for us to have a third room mate this year, so I only drove to Jamboree by myself, which really wasn't so bad. I didn't stay in a motel room by myself, thanks to Sheri Fenley my original room mate, from  The Educated Genealogist and Becky Wiseman, who became my only room mate, from  Kinexxons . I have now had two wonderful GeneaBlogger room mates. Becky and I hooked up at our room in the Ramada and then headed on over to the Marriott to see the other GeneaBloggers who had arrived. We registered that evening, which saved us from the crowds on Friday morning. Nice add on this year.
