Genealogy Do Over ~ Week 4

Image
I was very excited to read week 4 of Thomas's Genealogy Do Over. I was more than ready to move forward and quit working on "me." A lot of time was spent finding and adding sources to my research log, and working on that first person in my newest tree, " me ." Now I am quite tired of  "me."  What I got excited about was starting another Excel worksheet! Yes, I know there are several of you who really don't care for Excel, but I love it! I have enjoyed entering information into the research log, and already feel and see the benefit of having it. So, yes to a new log! It has been couple weeks since I have posted regarding the Genealogy Do Over.  I had malware on my MacBook Pro, and have been striving to demolish it for well over a month. I have made short, but sweet progress each week until last week, when the malware (Genio?) was finally gone, KAPUT!  Great, now I can start scanning! If it isn't one thing then it is another. I was neither prepared nor ready to go out and purchase a new flatbed scanner. Heck mine wa

Genealogy Do Over ~ Do Over ~ Weeks 1 - 3

WOW! ABOUT FACE...FORWARD MARCH! I have been side tracked by life in general and recently found time to return to the Genealogy Do Over hosted by Thomas MacEntee at Geneabloggers. I quickly became stressed as I had no idea where I previously left off... sound familiar? (This was exactly as you feel when you don't use a research log, correct?) I chose to read up on other's progress and watched Thomas MacEntee's webinar with Legacy, again. This time it wasn't late at night, and I took notes. The combination of these two things gave me a new frame of mind and the incentive I needed to get back on track. You will never guess (at least those who know what I have been doing the past couple of years) what I decided to do now. Start another new tree! I originally stated that I would not be doing that, however, it is what needs to happen for several reasons. Thirteen weeks isn't that long a period of time, although I will do these thirteen weeks as time
