The Book of Me Written By You~Prompt 29-What's in your bag/pocket?

I am participating in Julie Goucher's activity:

  This week's prompt (Week 29) is - What's in your bag/pocket?

Do you routinely carry a bag or holdall?
What do you carry?
Why do you carry it?
What do you carry it in?

Do you carry differently things on specific days or to specific places?

`````````````````````````````````
These days I try to carry the least amount possible! Women always seem to have so much to carry. If you have children, you carry diaper bags, if you grocery shop you carry the groceries, if you buy clothes you also carry those bags. Then of course there is the inevitable purse!
Yes, I have had children and have carried kids as well as diaper bags and everything else. Now a days I tend to be rebellious about lots of things and try to break from the norm and all that is expected as much as I can. I have spent many years being traditional so I feel I have put my time in.
I carry a purse generally, if I carry anything at all. I carry my wallet with important cards, photos of my family, and of course my drivers license. I do my best to leave my purse at home when I can, or if I bring it, I try to throw it in the trunk of the car and just have it for emergency purposes.
I used to carry all my makeup with me and whatever anyone else wants to throw in my purse, a brush, comb and sometimes my husbands wallet. When I smoked, (I have quit now for 5 years) I always had my cigarettes and a lighter in my purse. Back in the day, I also carried my check book with me, it was before bank cards or credit cards could pay for everything. If I ran out of cash, I always had my check book.
Now, besides my wallet, photos and cards, I have my purse with me for easy access to a pen, Chapstick and/or lipstick plus my phone. Must have the key fob on me too if I want my car to start. I always have gum in my purse and sometimes breath mints also. It seems these days I bring my purse because it entertains the grandkids. They always want gum or mints and like to play games on the phone.
When I ride my Harley, things are much different. If I even have a purse, it is an over the shoulder type and as small as can be.
I would take money out of my wallet along with my driver's license and registration and throw them in my little shoulder bag. Gum, a small brush (for helmet hair) and Chapstick would go in there also. I then take the purse and throw in a saddlebag, ready to ride away!
I have been known to carry a back pack, to throw papers and shopping things in at events. It makes it easier to just have one big bag. They come in handy on trips also.
I have used a shoulder strap style briefcase when attending the genealogy Jamboree in Burbank, California. I would put makeup, pens, license, papers, books and anything else in the briefcase along with my laptop. Sometimes a snack or two to hold me over if needed before a meal.
Oh and one more thing, I have been known to carry my camera bag as a purse also when lugging the camera around. Anyway you look at it, I try to use no more than one "bag" if possible. Depending on where I am going and what I am doing makes the decision on what I will use.
Thanks for stopping by!
Wishing you success in all of your genealogical treasure hunts!
