"My" Swedish Adventure~Resan~Whitehall St.~Part15

"My" Swedish Adventure ~ Förbereda (Preparing)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Great Scotland Yard"- City of Westminster. This is a street sign. It took me awhile to remember to look at the buildings for the street names. The street crosses Whitehall Street, the main street where we walked. The end of Great Scotland Yard (St.) used to host the police station.
Notice the Mc Donald's sign? We stopped there because my husband wanted to taste a hamburger from the McDonald's in London. His order for a hamburger, fries and a drink was $11.00. I didn't try it at all, but he said it tasted about the same. We have tried McDonald's in Costa Rica, I didn't care for it.
This is the view approaching "Great Scotland Yard" St. You can see "The Clarence" building has been standing since 1862. Cute place. Another photo of the back of my husband, I seem to get a lot of those. ;-)
Walking down Whitehall St., there are statues in the middle of the street. This one is a close up of "The women of WWll."
Here is the full view of the statue.
A couple more photos of statues taken on Whitehall St. The first is a statue of George, the Duke of Cambridge.
Finally,  to end this post I share a photo of the statue of Major General Sir Henry Havelock.
Thanks for stopping by!
Wishing you success in all of your genealogical treasure hunts!
