The Book of Me, Written By You Prompt 1 ~ Who Am I?



            
 I am participating in Julie Goucher's activity:
The prompt for week 1 is a recognized psychology test: Ask yourself 20 times “Who are you?” Each time you should give yourself a different answer, and if you can easily go beyond 20 entries then that is fine too. This prompt is about how YOU see YOU.

WHO AM I?

1.    I am Cheryl Ann (Lundberg/Fleming) Palmer.

2.    I am a retired Cosmetologist.

3.    My favorite title is “grandmother.”

4.    I am a crafter…using a variety of techniques.

5.    I am a daughter, wife, sister, mother, cousin as well as a grandmother.

6.    My two favorite things (besides my grandchildren) are “water and lights.”

7.    I am a sensitive and sentimental person.

8.    I am basically shy.

9.    I am a caregiver, of people and dogs.

10.  I am a self-learner, for the most part.

11.  I am an ex-smoker.

12.  I am a people pleaser and do not know how to say no.

13.  I am a traveler.

14.  I am my family’s historian/genealogist.

15.  I am a giving person and Christmas is my favorite holiday.

16.  I dislike shopping unless it is for Christmas gifts or craft supplies.

17.  I love taking photos but I am not a photographer.

18.  I am a volunteer.

19.  I am a proud life long learner, but admit keeping up with the Internet with it’s constant changes and updates can be challenging!

20.  I am a caring, trustworthy and supporting friend.

    I'm so glad that you're participating in this! Christmas is only 101 days away! It's Dane's favorite holiday, too. He's threatening to put up the lights the day after Halloween! =) Looking forward to reading your responses to the prompts from here on out!

Organizing ~ Cousins Found

I finally took time yesterday to do something I have been wanting to do for awhile now. It has been several years since I started genealogy and blogging. Many cousins have been found. But, how many? Who? I have not kept any kind of system to log these cousin contacts. I was past due, do I even remember all of them? Well, that was the goal here. I started a spreadsheet of "Cousins Found." I titled columns with things like, phone number, address, email address, surname, how/where we made contact, and if I have met them. I am all about meeting my living cousins and their family members, it does my heart good, plus you never know how long they will be with us. Sentimental Sunday ~ Western Union Telegram

Do you remember telegrams? Western Union Telegrams were a bit before my time. I have scanned the few that were kept and received by my paternal family back in the day.  This telegram was sent to my grandmother from Obed Olson stating his brother Philip had passed away on Wednesday March 9, 1960. It also let the family know that the funeral services were to be on Saturday at 2:00pm at Coop Mortuary in Hibbing, Minnesota. The telegram was to be received by Friday (which would have been March 11) and the funeral with the funeral being the next day I highly doubt my grandparents made if from California to Minnesota for the funeral. Philip and Obed Olson were my first cousin once removed. Unfortunately, I never met either of them.
