Pier 39 ~ Wordless Wednesday
The picture I posted yesterday is one of my favorites taken a couple weeks ago when our daughter was here for a visit from Tennessee. She brought a little girl with her who is six. This little girl has been a BIG part of our daughter's life since this child was born. She had never been to California, so it was our duty to entertain her as much as possible for the short time they were here.
We chose to take the family to "The City" the day after their arrival. Once in San Francisco, we took a cable car to get down to the wharf. I found out later that this was the first time my daughters had ever been on a cable car! Oh, did we parents get blamed for that one!
One of the highlights for this little girl was to see the bay, and another was most definitely the sea lions! She loved hem, especially when they were "barking" away. This picture happens to show where we were and in the background you can see bits of the Golden Gate Bridge. Also in the background you can see a ship, the Jeremiah Johnson. One day I will post more about the significance to me of this ship.
For lunch we went to Bubba Gumps. A spectacular view from our table was most entertaining. Watching the fishing boats, speed boats, cruise boats and sail boats across the bay made for great conversation during lunch. Beyond that we had the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the beautiful clear day!
After much sight seeing, shopping and eating, we wore ourselves out. This photo will always remind me of the trip the six year old was able to make to see California for the first time.
Thanks for stopping by!
Wishing you success in all of your genealogical treasure hunts!
