"My" Swedish Adventure~Resan~Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace~Post 27

Finally, the band comes through the street...

...and enters the gates into the Palace.

To the disappointment of the crowd, unless you were up against the fence, you couldn't see the changing of the guard! I share the photo below showing the two blurred "red guards" inside the gate, where the event was carried out. We heard the band, but that was all, and could not see the event. Very disappointing, especially because of how the ropes were all set up for people to stage. It was a bit deceiving.

After the changing of the guard, we saw the exiting of the participants...

...as well as the band.

Now, they did go right past us...

...to the gate, and exited down the street we walked up to get to the palace.

Here they are heading down the street to the side gate of the palace I shared earlier. And that my friends, was the changing of the guard!

Lesson to share~

If you attempt to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, head there a couple of hours early so you can get a spot against the gate in front of the palace. We thought we did good leaving an hour early.

Pretty snazzy uniforms wouldn't you say?

This was the worst thing I think that happened on our trip! The worst meaning, missing the changing of the guard? Yep, that was the worst of the trip!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing you success in all of your genealogical treasure hunts!
