Hi Taylorstales, this fruit is called mamones. There are several types of mamones. I had never seen these before. One of my husbands favorite fruits from Costa Rica is mamones, but the ones he likes are all green and smooth. I have had those,they are sweet. My husband doesn't care for these in the picture, and I haven't tasted them.
Nice photo, Cheryl. Costa Rica is home to the best-tasting fruit I have ever encountered. And it looks good, too!
