Organizing, Again

Seems to me I spend to much time organizing. Every time I think I am done and ready to move on I find something else that needs organizing. The toughest thing for me to keep up with is photographs. I seem to always be taking photos. I download them, and sometimes when I download them I get lazy and you never know where you will find the latest download.

Having my paperwork all filed and organized is great, the scanning I have done this year is all in the folders they belong in. My digital pictures for the last three years have only been downloaded, never labeled or organized. I have organized the two oldest years and they make sense now, one more year to go. (This does include personal pictures, along with my genealogical shots) I have improved my download process to help simplify my organizing process. But really, who has time to label every picture you take?

I have been working for a long time on getting everything in order, and have accomplished so much. I am happy about that. But when is it time to actually research? I say very soon! I need to collect more paper and pictures and such so I can worry about the next organizing session I will need!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing you success in all of your genealogical treasure hunts!

  1. I have my paper pretty much organized, at least in binders by surnames. I have very little digitzed despite wanting to work on it and realizing the importance of having it stored in that manner. So much work, so much life, so little time to organize. Perhaps a goal for 2009? Sounds like you are doing a great job!

  2. I have been working hard this past year to organize, and have accomplished a lot. It just seems that everytime I am am "there", I find something else to update! It is a great feeling to be organized, and I am happy with where I am at in general. You are right though, so little time to do everything we want! Good luck with getting yours digitized, it is a good feeling when done!
