The Book of Me Written By You~Prompt 14~Special People

I am participating in Julie Goucher's activity:

This week’s prompt ~ Prompt 14 ~ Special People

If you had to hold a dinner party and could invite a maximum of 12 people who would you invite?

This week you CAN include family.

What meals would you serve and why?

Perhaps include the recipe or a photo if you decided to actually cook the items!

This time I get to invite family to my special dinner for twelve! Yes! I have decided to have a casual dinner outside on a California summer evening. We may even actually have dinner at the beach…at sunset.

The very first person I would invite would be my Dad. He is by far, the first and foremost family member invited to attend any family functions I have. He has a very special place in my heart and I am most grateful to have him in my life!

The next person I would invite to dinner would be my cousin, Jan Lundberg, in Sweden. I am so fortunate that he replied to one of my blog posts, which has brought our two world's together.

The third person I would invite would be my paternal grandfather, Erik Hjalmer Lundberg. Life has ways of evolving, so much so that I, unfortunately, didn't spend any real time with him when I was growing up. I would like some of that time back to get to really know him as a person.

My maternal great-grandmother, Dagny Dulin would be the next person invited. I never knew her, but I have many questions for her. The main question, why did she came to the United States…I have a difficult time understanding this as she came from a fairly well to do family in Norway. Things yet undiscovered!

I would also invite my great-grandmother Marta Brita Lundberg. I would love to hear the stories that have failed to be told. Who was my grandfather's father? Did his sister have the same father?

Another great-grandmother, Laura Hohimer would also be on my invitation list. I never met her, but feel a need to know her. I met my great grandfather, but never her.

I think great-grandfather Raney McGuire would also be on the invitation list. I know there are some good stories behind this man that may never have been told.

I would invite my cousin in Norway, Cecilie (Dulin). I have had contact with her and we tried to meet once, but it didn't quite work out. I think it is high time we met!

Another cousin I haven't met but have had communication with for a few years now would also be invited to dinner. My Cousin Betty who lives in Montana. She has been a hugh help to me with my paternal mother's family and their family history. I owe her more than a few hugs, and more than a few dinners also!

I have a first Cousin Steve, that I have not seen since I was just a couple years old. He lives in Florida. We made online contact about a year ago. I think he needs to be invited so we can get reacquainted and I can eventually meet the rest of his family.

I have another first cousin who lives in the same state as I do, California, which I haven't seen since I was a child, Cousin David. We have tried a couple of times to hook up, but so far it hasn't worked out. Maybe dinner this time would!

I have many more cousins I could invite to this dinner, but I certainly can not invite them all. I think the twelfth
person I would invite would be my second great-grandfather Erik Andersson Lundberg. I think he would love to hear what I have been up to in order to learn more about our family.

For dinner we would have a barbecue. Several meats, hamburgers, chicken, steak and fish. Roast some corn on the cob and other veggies, a pasta salad as well as a fruit salad and call it good. Lots of snacks and appetizers, with some beer and wine for those who wish to partake. I hear the stories flowing now...

Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing you success in all of your genealogical treasure hunts!
