Funeral Friday ~ Plants




Today we attend my brother in laws funeral and honor his life. Here is a copy of the obituary as it is printed in "The Independent" newspaper on September 30, 1910.

Ronald Dale Plants

Ronald Dale Plants passed away in Livermore, CA, Saturday, Sept 25, 2010, following a short battle with cancer. He was 58 years old. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Ron touched so many lives with his great sense of humor, gentle spirit and positive outlook on life.

Ron was born in Oakland, Ca, on March 22, 1952 and graduated from Pacific High School in San Leandro. Ron spent most of his young life in San Leandro and recently relocated to Oregon. He was a retired cement truck driver who in his spare time enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time out doors, and enjoying the company of family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lynne Fleming-Plants and his only son, Nicholas Plants, both of Livermore, Ca. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Plants and his sister Ruthann Fernandez, both of Dublin Ca. He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Geraldine Plants, of San Lorenzo as well as his brother Leonard Plants of Hayward.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 5:00-9:00 pm and a funeral service Friday October 1st at 10:30 am at Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward Ca. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society @ www.cancer.org.



Ron, such a blessing to have had you in all of our lives. The angels have you now, but you will forever be in our hearts. We love you!
